Ferghus Rachiden

Ferghus Rachiden was was born as one part of a pair of twins to the Alsonan branch of the Rachiden Banking House. A half-elf, he has rarely found a place to fit in with his family, beyond his twin brother. The twins were nearly inseparable in their youth, and regularly partook in adventures and shenanigans throughout the streets of Pathenonas. The wealth of the family enabled no object barriers to their plans of growth and development, and Ferghus soon took to the adventuring life. While his brother chose to go to university, Ferghus instead took on an apprenticeship with the Alsonan Rangers. 
With the Rangers, he learned much about survival in the wilds and on the frontiers of the nation. He formed a close friendship with a librarian in the Academy, Peter Collias. He was enraptured by the stories of Peter's past adventures, and when the call to adventure came again, Ferghus was quick to answer. Ferghus joined Peter and his veteran allies to depose Peter's corrupt brother from the throne of Potamipoli. The adventure shaped him, and soon, Ferghus was even the best man at the wedding between his sister and Peter. Unfortunately, these ties were soon broken, with the beginning of the Wingo War.
Ferghus had previously seen the fates of the dwarves who were imprisoned within Wingo Mine, and when the call to arms was issued to the Alsonan Rangers, he refused to take up a position with the Alsonan army. Instead, he offered his services to the Tenashi and the dwarves, pitting him against his former brethren. His family for a time disowned him, and Ferghus served with distinction in the rebel armies. After the war concluded and a general amnesty was offered for Rangers who failed to serve, he returned to the Academy, but found that many of his own friends had died in the war or turned against him. Now, he continues to answer the calls for help from the Rangers, but he remains isolated and has rarely found any who support him among his comrades.
