A beautiful flower of bright yellow petals, Nilion's Heart is a rare floral species found in the geothermal hotbed nestled between the mountains of Nilion's Ribs. To state the obvious, Nilion's Heart is named for the location in which it is found: though Drumis is a land of mysteries, to the best of anyone's knowledge this flower can only be found in the valleys of Nilion's Ribs. And the name's metaphorical accuracy doesn't end with where it is found. Indeed, Nilion's Heart is one of the most potent healing herbs on Emaxus. It is used in the crafting of the strongest healing or restorative potions, and is sometimes even ground into a powder and used in certain divine and arcane enchantments placed on items for the purposes of sustaining or healing their bearers.
Magical Uses
Nilion's Heart can be used in one of two ways: one, the flower is removed from the stem and precisely diced into small pieces, wherein it is added to various healing potion recipes to significantly enhance their potency, or two, the entire plant, stem and all, is carefully ground into a paste with holy water and elemental salts to make extremely potent protective or restorative enchantments.
A Beautifully Rare Font of Healing
Nilion's Heart is exceptionally rare. Not only is it limited to a single, extremely dangerous and inhospitable region, but even within its home it is rare to be seen. Granted, the bright yellow of the flower and the rich green of its stem and petals make it stand out like a sore thumb in a valley of cracked, dry ground, geothermal gas vents, and massive chasms; however, even looking as far as the eye can see, standing in the heart of Nilion's Ribs, one would be hard-pressed to spot more than a handful of these elusive flowers. Whether this is due to the violent tendencies of the region it calls home, or some inherent trait about it that makes it so rare, Nilion's Heart is one of the rarest herbs in Emaxus, and extremely lucrative to those who can retrieve it properly and survive.
