Runeslinger

Runeslingers are pistols that fire flechette rounds by accelerating them with runweaving along the barrel of the gun. The projectile is supersonic, but the gun is otherwise silent when firing, quiter than even a suppressed blast gun. Rune guns such as runeslingers operate much better underwater perfectly, unlike blast guns, and are easier to maintain and create ammo for. It is possible to make improvised rounds for a runeslinger out of scrap materials around as the propulsion is provided by the runeweaves on the barrel rather than the projectile itself.

Runeslingers are much more popular than their blast counterparts as they are easier to make and maintain and cheaper to produce ammo for. Weavers are also much more common to find than specialized engineers capable of making blast guns.
