Rattleweed

Appearance

Rattleweed has a long grey stem with drab yellow leaves that curl up at the end, forming pods at the end which contain loose seeds which rattle when moved.

Uses

Rattleweed can be used as a drug. It is usually grounded and smoked, the oils within the leaves making a noxious smoke. When inhaled rattleweed causes a sense of relaxation and energy. It is used as a stimulant to help focus.

Rattleweed is hard to overdose on, large doses mostly create a more powerful high to the point where users lack the ability to sleep or multitask at all. Rattleweed smoke has a cloyingly sweet odor and a strong taste, lingering long after dissipation.

The seeds are a weak poison requiring ingestion or inhalation, causing intenstinal distress and nausea. Those using rattleweed recreationally have to be careful to remove the seeds from the pods at the ends of the leaves or suffer these side effects. In large doses, rattleweed seed poison causes difficulty breathing and paranoia. The seeds have a bitter flavor.
