Ragjan Tree

The ragjan tree stands out in most places but the dark depths of the Rashad Jungles it hails from. The leaves are a dark black and feel and behave like thin plastic. The wood of the tree shares a similar property, giving rise to its nickname -- meltwood. The wood of the tree is grey and it has no bark. The ragnjan tree periodically buds with ragjan, large cabbage sized flowers with rich purple color.

The tree itself has a broad base that looks like dozens of smaller trunks intertwined. The leaves are broad fronds, sometimes larger than jull. The tree grows 10-15m in height and requires an extraordinary amount of water to survive.

Ragjan are a symbol of the area, having become ingrained in the peoples cultural iconography and trade. Ragjan can be made into purple, blue, and green dyes, rare to most other parts of the world. Ragjan is often made into perfumes and paints as well.

The wood is extremely useful due to its flexibilty and strange ability to be heated and reshaped or even completely melted down and reformed. Ragjan wood isnt particularly strong, but still commands a high price in many places due to its uniqeness.
