Cloudsteel

Cloudsteel is a magical metal with a pale blue color with mundane prorties close to steel. When a imbued with weft the metal changes to become transparent. Smaller quantities of weft can be provided to put the material in an inbetween state, making it look like foggy glass rather than completely invisible and see through or completely opaque. This inbetween state gave rise to the name for the metal.

Cloudsteel is used as a stand in for glass when needing windows but also protection, such as at the helm of an airship.

Creating cloudsteel is expensive as it requires the ground bones of Cloud Kites as one of its ingredients. The process for producing Cloudsteel is a highly garded trade secret, and there are not many sources of reputable cloudsteel.
