Acid in Emala | World Anvil

Acid

Acids come from many sources are widely used for alchemical purposes. The concentration of the acid matters as much as its type. All acids capable of harming people or objects quickly are classified as Weak, Strong, or Concentrated. The damage noted below assumes that contact with the acid is significant or sustained, rather than just a droplet or two.

A splash or spray of acid lasts only for a few Combat Rounds at best before it loses potency as it reacts with available materials. Immersion in a considerable volume of acid inflicts the damage every round until the victim or location is removed from the acid and treated. Even after being pulled from immersion, the acid clinging to the victim may continue to damage like a splash or spray of acid before it loses its potency.

For generic acids it is assumed that armor protects some, but little against the effects of acid. Damage from acid reduces the Armor Points of armor, once the Armor Points have reached zero, the armor no longer protects the victim and the acid will begin damaging them.

Generic acids damage living and inorganic substances equally, but more specific acids may only damage specific substances. For example, Nath acid only damages organic substances.
