The Four Moons

There are four moons visible in the sky. Different parts of the world may call them by different names but in Elyssom, they are named after the 4 Old Gods - Aldarae, Telix, Velinox, and Huluric. Combinations of the four moons being either Full or New are celebrated with different festivals across the region.

Lunar Celebrations

The rarest is the Nights of Full Light with all 4 full moons. The Nights of Bright Light have 3 full moons and a single new moon. The Nights of Half Light see the moons split - 2 full, 2 new. The Nights of Pale Light are marked by 3 new moons with only 1 full moon. The Nights of Darkness has 4 new moons.

Supernatural Impact

• The Vampyre are least active during Full Light and Bright Light. They are most active on Nights of Darkness.
• Lycans, or other lycanthropic shapeshifters, have increasing activity and power based on the number of full moons at any time.
• It is believed that the veils between planes are thinnest on Nights of Darkness making it easier for fiends to escape the Fiendish Plane.
