The Border Range

The Border Range is a vast stretch of mountains that spans from the Spine of the World in the north to the Inner Sea in the south. It is so named because its presence creates a natural border between the forested lands of the Autumnal Coast and Northern Wildlands and the vast, unmapped waste that spreads to the east of Elyria. The Border Range also provides a natural border between the Northern Wildlands and the rest of Elyria with the Sunset Peaks, which is only passable through the village of Twin Peaks.

Geography

The Border Range is the tallest range of mountains in the known world. Many of the mountains stand at least twice as tall as the tallest mountain in the Sunset Peaks. The larger portion of the mountains fall within the realm of Anvilmoor, and the dwarves have been mining and exploring the inside of the mountains for millennia. Yet, they still have not made their way completely through the range. The great dwarven city of Ha'Rhad Hall is located deep inside an ever-burning caldera in the heart of the mountain range. These mountains are also the only known place to mine adamantine and resinite, a precious gem that can be used for a variety of arcane spells. Additionally, the mountains feature several glacial lakes and picturesque waterfalls that are said to freeze in the winter months.
