The Sunset Peaks

The Sunset Peaks are a stretch of mountains that mark the southern border of the Northern Wildlands. The range was named for its proximity to the Twilight Wood of the Autumnal Coast. Not much is known about the range itself. It was not discovered until 1140 when the caravan of humans and dwarves made their way north. The only mote of information is a rumour of a mysterious, arcane lake. 

Geography

The mountains begin in the west on the shore of the Azure Ocean and extend for several hundred leagues to form the Southern Pass with the Border Range of mountains in the east. The village of Twin Peaks rests in the middle of the pass. The terrain contains many valuable metal ores, including gold, silver, iron, and electrum; the visible signs of which are easily detectable to those schooled in mining. Additionally, the mountains are rumoured to be host to a large underground lake whose waters are said to have magical properties; however, adventurers who ventured to find the lake were forced to turn back because of any number of natural occurrences or weren't seen again.
