The Lightweaver

The Lightweaver, god of justice and war, embodies the principle that true justice often requires the strength and resolve to fight for what is right. Unlike many gods of war who represent senseless destruction or conquest, the Lightweaver views war as a necessary means to protect the innocent, uphold laws, and restore balance in times of darkness. War, in the Lightweaver's teachings, is not glorified but seen as a tool of last resort, to be wielded only in defense of justice and peace.
This god is depicted as a radiant figure wrapped in glowing threads of light, with a sword in one hand and scales in the other, symbolizing both the power to fight and the wisdom to judge fairly. Paladins and clerics who worship the Lightweaver are often called upon to be both defenders and arbiters—warriors who uphold the law, but also judges who must weigh moral choices in times of conflict. They believe that sometimes, war is the price that must be paid to protect justice from tyranny and evil.
In times of peace, the Lightweaver’s followers focus on upholding order, mediating disputes, and rooting out corruption. In times of war, they become fierce protectors of the vulnerable, using their strength to safeguard what is just. This duality—justice through strength—makes the Lightweaver both feared and revered across Zathrien.
The core philosophy of the Lightweaver teaches that one must never seek war, but must be prepared to wage it to uphold the light of justice.

The Lightweaver is responsible for the death of Vorthain, the "Chainlord," an ancient deity of tyranny, punishment, and subjugation.
Vorthain ruled over a rigid, oppressive system where laws were absolute, regardless of morality or fairness. He believed in a world where strength and control were the only true forms of justice, and the weak were meant to be dominated. Vorthain's followers were feared for their brutal enforcement of these laws, often shackling entire populations under cruel regimes. Justice, in his eyes, was punishment without mercy.
The Lightweaver, as a rising force of righteous justice and true fairness, could not abide by such a corrupted vision of law. The battle between the two would have been seen as a clash of ideologies: the Chainlord's iron grip of oppressive order against the Lightweaver's vision of justice tempered by compassion and truth. In a decisive moment, the Lightweaver struck down Vorthain, shattering his chains and freeing the world from his brutal, tyrannical rule.
The Lightweaver’s triumph over Vorthain is celebrated by his followers as the day true justice was restored to the world. Yet, some remnants of Vorthain’s influence still linger, with cults dedicated to his dark vision of law continuing to resist the Lightweaver’s ideals.
