Emberheart

Emberheart, the god of sacrifice, arrived in the world of Elundrasil shortly after Dempsy brought balance back to the natural world. Where Dempsy restored the cycles of the seasons, Emberheart introduced the idea that true growth, prosperity, and even survival often require sacrifice—whether it be of comfort, power, or life itself. He taught that through sacrifice, one could achieve redemption, power, or the betterment of the world.
Depicted as a towering figure wreathed in flames, Emberheart’s most striking feature is the smoldering fire that burns where his heart should be. His body is strong and lean, but his face bears a serene expression, a reminder that sacrifice is not about anger or violence, but about willingly giving something of yourself for a higher purpose. His fiery heart represents the eternal flame of sacrifice, burning with both the pain and beauty of giving. The light from this fire casts deep shadows, symbolizing the duality of sacrifice—both its noble and its tragic aspects.
Emberheart carries a blade forged from pure flame, known as Kindlebrand, which he uses not to slay, but to test the resolve of those who follow him. His followers believe that those who withstand the heat of sacrifice will emerge stronger, purified by the flames. His cloak, said to be woven from the ashes of martyrs, symbolizes his role as a protector of those who sacrifice for the greater good.
After his arrival, Emberheart’s teachings quickly spread across Zathrien, particularly among those who sought purpose in hardship or redemption from past mistakes. His followers believe that all great things come with a cost, and that giving of oneself, either in small daily acts or in grand gestures, is the path to spiritual elevation.
Though many of his worshippers uphold sacrifice as an act of nobility, Emberheart’s presence is sometimes feared, for his trials are harsh, and the demands of sacrifice can be steep. However, he is always fair, and his blessings go to those who prove their commitment through selfless acts. Whether calling for warriors to lay down their lives for others or inspiring common folk to give up their most prized possessions for the good of their community, Emberheart’s presence is felt in moments of choice—when the decision to sacrifice or hold on shapes the future.
In the world of Elundrasil, Emberheart’s flame continues to burn in the hearts of those who are willing to give something of themselves for the betterment of all. His symbol, a flaming heart surrounded by a ring of ash, is often seen in places where his followers gather to honor him through deeds of sacrifice, whether great or small.
