Modify Memory
Modify Memory
5-level Enchantment
Casting Time 1 action
Range 30 feet
Duration Concentration, up to a minute
You attempt to reshape the memories of a creature that you can see within range. The target must make a Wisdom Saving Throw.
- Major Success: The creature is unaffected and knows you tried to alter its memory.
- Success: The creature is unaffected but thinks your spell was something harmless instead of modify memory, unless it successfully identifies the spell.
- Failure: You can telepathically communicate with the target for the duration, during this time you can alter the target's memory of an event that it experienced within the last 24 hours and that lasted no more than 10 minutes. Either erasing the memory, enhancing the memory's clarity, altering the memory, or adding a false memory. You must describe to the target how its memories are affected in a manner it understands for the modified memories to take root. The target's mind fills in any gaps in the details of your description. If the spell ends before you have finished describing the modified memories, the creature's memory isn't altered. Otherwise, the modified memories take hold when the spell ends.
