Hallucinatory Monster
Hallucinatory Monster
8-level Illusion
You create an illusory monster in an unoccupied space that you can see within range. The monster must be a Large or Huge non-humanoid creature that you are familiar with. The illusion lasts for the spell's duration and occupies its space, as if it were a creature.
When the illusion appears, any of your enemies that can see it must succeed on a Wisdom Saving Throw or become frightened of it for 1 minute. If a frightened creature ends its turn in a location where it doesn't have line of sight to the illusion, it can repeat the Saving Throw, ending the effect on itself on a success.
As a bonus action on your turn, you can move the illusion up to 60 feet. At any point during its movement, you can make a melee spell attack with the illusion against a creature within 10 feet of its space. On a hit, the target takes 10d6 bludgeoning, piercing, slashing, or psychic damage (your choice).
Creatures interacting with the illusion are convinced of its tangibility. Any attacks miss the illusion automatically, it succeeds on all saving throws, and it is immune to all damage and conditions.
A creature that makes an attack against the illusion, casts a spell at it, or takes damage from it briefly experiences a moment of clarity and makes an Intelligence Saving Throw at the end of their turn. On a success, the creature successfully discerns the illusion for what it is and can see through it, move through it, and takes half damage from its attacks.
At higher levels:
- At 9th Level: The duration is up to 10 minutes.
