Wilted bloom rose

A rare type of flower that grows exclusively in the Primodis swamp that's valued for its potent medicinal properties, which some claim when mixed correctly are potent enough to stave off death and restore life to the dead. Whether or not that claim is true however, they still are a prime source of all sorts of medical tinctures. The name comes from the unique appearance of the flower, which at first glance appears to be a wilted grey husk that's already past its prime. However, when the flower actually blooms, the "dead" petals fall away, revealing a beautiful dark rose ranging in colour from a navy blue to a deep purple.   However, the intrinsic beauty of the flower blooming is rarely a spectacle for bystanders, as the inhospitable nature of the primordis swamp makes it difficult for all but the mitari to easily witness the phenomenon, and due to how sought after the plant is for medical purposes their locations are seldom revealed until post-bloom. Wayward adventurers may on occasion stumble across wilted bloom roses before they've bloomed, but unless they're incredibly lucky or versed in botany are unlikely to notice due to the innate camouflage of that keeps it safe from the various bugs and insects of the swamp.   The flower has also never successfully been bred outside of the swamp itself; the plant is incredibly sensitive to sunlight to the point of rapid deterioration when directly exposed to it, as has prolonged exposure from artificial lights. In the few instances of living specimens being extracted and transferred under cover of night to nocturnal terrarium, attempts to recreate the exact conditions for the plant to blossom properly have all met failure, leading experts to speculate that Domitari knew something specific about the plant that was factored into the perpetual darkness of the swamp specifically to allow it to grow.    Attempts to further cultivate the wilted bloom rose continue regardless, but at present the demand is slowly met by mitari export.
Conservation Status
Under protection - exact numbers are unknown, but with how elusive they are and their potent medicinal properties, the mitari keep tabs on every known location and will ensure they aren't harvested before they've released their seeds.
