Silver Sneak-thief

Silver sneak-thieves are a common pest within Stalvenrakh, having a penchant for stealing & hoarding shiny things. These stealthy critters are capable of suppressing the sound of their movement so much they're basically silent, making them more than capable of getting into a backpack & making away with half your valuables without ever hearing a sound.   Appearance   These mustelids despite their names only have two streaks of silver on their backs and are mostly dark brown in colour, with pale tan fur on their face & hind legs. The fur around their eyes is also a dark brown, giving them a mask-like look. Averaging 60cm in length, their tails being about 15cm of that. Their long, noodle-like body is incredibly flexible, helping them to scurry through all sorts of tight spaces.   Diet & Behaviour   Silver sneak-thieves are carnivorous, subsisting off of small prey such as mice, with a fast metabolism that requires them to eat regularly. This need has been taken advantage of by career criminals & thieves who will provide food & shelter that allows the sneak-thieves to spend more time going after valuables, a portion of which will be fenced off by the thieves without any risk on themselves being caught by authorities. Silver sneak-thieves tend to only live short lives of around 10-12 years, reaching maturity after 8 months. They are happy living both solitarily & in small groups, though will keep their hoards of "shinies" separate. When a sneak-thief has interest in another, they offer their shiniest of shinies which, if reciprocated, will be offered a piece from the sneak-thief of their fancy. On rare occasions, should a pair of sneak-thieves decide to become mates for life, they consummate the bond by combining their shiny hoards into one.
