Quasran

Quasran is the main quarrying city of Stalvenrakh, lying in the north-east. The "stony steps of Quasran" being a popular tourist attraction, as a very visually stunning view of the slate segments sequentially shaved in slabs slowly descends into a seemingly bottomless abyss as workers routinely mine the stone for building the numerous fortifications across the land. That's far from the only quarry field within the imposing stone walls of the city, however, albeit the biggest and most visually striking. Multiple quarries are present throughout the city in every direction, with hundreds or different types of ore.   Quasran and it's quarries are considered an indicative example of the orderly continent Vatra set out to create, with areas designed with specific intent allowing them to be focused on in full. Whilst this does make Quasran a great town for quarrying and a testing bed for new alloys and compounds for construction and manufacturing, it does lead to a number of logistical issues with how dependent they are on external supplies for many other basic necessities. As with many other settlements in Stalvenrakh, merchants and supplies being waylaid on the road is a massive detriment to the wellbeing of the city as a hole, and opportunities for youth growing up with interests outside of the industry of the town are limited.   Quasran's vital importance to Stalvenrakh's ore supplies does provide it some extra protection however, with it being one of the most reinforced cities to ensure things remain in order. The distance from the capitol city of Corsyk and Vatra's influence however makes this a mostly superficial security, with corruption and a criminal underbelly being rampant. This in turn could arguably make Quasran the best example of Stalvenrakh in a single city: a place announcing to the world its firm grip of law and order, blind to the rot seeping under the surface of the core.
