Aulnstraata

Located to the immediate south of Muaretella, Aulnstraata is very similar to its neighboring dominance of Endsclavaa. Sharing its mountainous and dryer climate of that region but its northern region is much closer to that of Muaretella. With hilly grasslands that rise above the lower planes of Selendaar compared to the rocky hills and mountains of Sclavaa that dominate the southern shoreline.
Similar to both neighboring regions, Aulnstraata specializes in farming in its northern grasslands while the mountainous areas specialize in mining operations and fishing takes place all along its shoreline to the south. The dominance also has a higher presence of military than the other. The dominance shares a border with Corvas Sclaava, and with the tensions between the kingdom and the empire along with the dominance's mountainous nature. A series of forts are placed along the border.

History

Aulnstraata was originally inhabited by the men and elves of the southern coast of Alnn. As the Orvulian Empire grew its gaze eventually drew upon the region's vast resources and using it as a means of defense between other nations and the plains of Selendaar. As such, the Orvulians launched a campaign to conquer both Aulnstraata and Endsclavaa. They drove most of the local population eastward into Corvas Sclaava.
Because of this, there is tension between the two nations, a tension that has led to several border skirmishes along the eastern end of Aulnstraata. These have led to the increased military presence in the region and the series of fortresses that line the border with Corvas Sclaava.
