Effects

Augmented beings are stronger, healthier, sturdier, larger and live longer than their non-augmented counterparts (Full Augmented humans live around 200 years). Because they suffer less health problems, augmented average to be smarter than non-augmented, but this becomes less pronounced when the population has access to proper healthcare and education.
Augmentation can come in degrees. The term "full-augmented" refers to beings that have been augmented to a degree where further attempts at augmentation have severely diminished returns to the point of being barely noticeable. The term half-augmented is loosely used to refer to any being that has been augmented, but not to the degree of a full-augmented has been, or the progeny of a full-augment and non-augment. In more official terms, full-augments are considered to be 75-100% augmented, half-augments are anyone in the 25-75% band of augmentation. In Elan every human has some degree of augmented ancestry, but are not necessarily counted as such.
However, not everything about augmentation is positive. Due to some weird interactions with lifeforce full-augmented have what can be described as a "fractured" lifeforce, which means that when they fuel sorcery they have to be careful as this can lead them to be seriously hurt by even simple magic.
