Nok´Taresh
The continent of Nok'Taresh is located in the middle of the known world. With Selmara and N'Kras to the west and Elpiri to the east, Nok'Taresh have been invaded multiple times by its neighbours over the course of history.
Yet, it has always prevailed due to its people.
The people of Nok'taresh are sturdy and vigilant, given their almost constant efforts to protect their homelands. Almost totally inhabited by Humans, the lands of Nok'Taresh are a hostile place for all other races, most of which once had a foothold on the continent, but were wiped out over time. Some races are still seen as unwelcome in most parts of Nok'Taresh, but some are so deeply ingrained in the cultures of the lands, that they are seen as merely another form of Human.
Geography
The continent is historically split in five, each with its own distinct geography.
The northern-most land of ??? is a long coast of marshlands and beaches.
The south eastern land of ??? is a highland, filled with rocks and caves. There are far between the settlements and, as such, the jagged hills are filled with wildlife, some of it dangerous.
The south western land of ??? is a mountainous region, covered in snow and ice. Most settlements here, is situated underground or withing the mountains themselves.
The western land of ??? is covered in deep and lush jungle-like forests. While most of the settlements within are hard to find, the natural and unnatural predators of the land is not.
History
The tales go, that the first Humans were created by four primordial Gods, who had a wager going between them. They wanted to see whose power was the greatest, but not only in the sense of war and battle. No, these Gods wanted to see which could create a species, that, with their attributes based on the power of their creator, would end up ruling the others. To make it a fair fight, all Gods were given the same clay to form their creations with and they all agreed on a series of unifying physical traits.
The first God created his subjects with the will to bend the weave to their will. They would have an innate sense of nature and affinity for all things magical.
The second God created his to charm, lie, cheat and persuade their enemies, ensuring his victory would be won, no matter the means.
The third God created hers to salvage, improve, invent and produce. She would win based on the power of the mind.
The fourth God created hers to slay. She was an angry and wrathful being and her creations would match that for all time to come.
And so, the four set their pieces upon a land, each in their own corner, to see who was the most powerful.
