Venaton

Xzonic Competitors often held slaves to be Venatons, a kind of gladiator that was used to fight wild beasts either for sport or to clear an area that a Competitor wished to hold/take. Venatons also made expendable soldiers, when it came to that. Venatons were trained to use weapons, but Xzonic Competitors did not hold magic in the same ill-repute as the Tsrachians and most competitors employed magic wielders who could control stone. Thus, though the Venatons were given metal weapons, the Bituito (as the magic wielders were often known) had enough control to keep the Venatons in check and prevent them from being able to do anything to help themselves. When the Venatons were not in the presence of Bituito, they were shackled or otherwise restrained. Venatons were, at their most basic, a source of entertainment and free labour for the Xzonic Competitors, and an expendable work/army force
