Time in Laerdt'nah

Seconds, Minutes, and Hours

Seconds, minutes, and hours all exist in Laerdt'nah, and they are roughly equivalent to the non-TTRPG world.

Passings

Each day and night cycle is called a passing, to remark on the passing of the two close stars and the three moons in the sky above Laerdt'nah. The day time is considered to last as long as either of the two close stars are visible in the sky, and the night is when only the three moons are visible. Day time typically lasts 12 hours in the winter and 20 hours in the summer months. Night time can last as long as 14 hours in the winter and can be as short as 6 hours in the summer.

Moons

Rather than weeks, Laerdt'nah has No, First, Second, Third and All Moon in each Deoch. Each Moon lasts 5 passings. During each Moon, one of the three moons is visible in the night sky, except during All Moon when they are each visible for some point of each night and No Moon, when none are visible.

Deochs

Each set of Moons is called a Deoch, with there being 11 Deochs in each Eoch. Three of the Deochs are spring (First Spring, True Spring, and Warm Spring), three of the Deochs are summer (First Summer, True Summer, Cool Summer), three of the Deochs are autumn (First Autumn, True Autumn, Cool Autumn), and two of the Deochs are winter (Cool Winter and Warm Winter).

Eochs

Eoch is the word used to describe a full cycle of seasons in Laerdt'nah. Each Eoch lasts around 220 passings, 55 moons, or 11 Deochs. The New Eoch is usually celebrated at the beginning of First Spring.
