Session 2: The Dryad and the Faerie Dragon

The Search Continues
After waking up in the Forest of Regrets, Lumee and Remee decide to travel east towards the grove of the dryad, Elia’Natah. After a few hours of walking through the forest, the two gnome girls reach the river. A dramatical drop in the temperature reveals the presence of the dryad. Her physical appearance dark and cold, she invites the travelers to follow her to her grove. Warily at first, they accept her invitation and after a short while they arrive in a clearing in the forest. Although her appearance is intimidating, the dryad is a gentle creature and after a short conversation she tells the girls her story. She tells them about how she wants to return to her native plane of Faerie but is unable to. Lumee, sensing a deep sadness in the dryad's words offers to help her recover a stolen gemstone so she can finally travel back to her plane. Elia then tells them about the thief who stole her gemstone decades ago, a mischievous creature called Bupu. He fled north to the The Dragon's Maw, where the abundance of hot springs make the area ideal for a tiny faerie dragon who delights in taking hot baths and playing pranks on travelers.
The Dragon's Maw
After their encounter with Elia'Natah, the gnomes travel north towards the hot springs of the Dragon's Maw. The temperature increases the closer they get to their destination, and after a day of travel and the mysterious disappearance of one of Lumee's boots while she slept, they finally arrive. A thick fog fills the whole area, an enormous cave littered with hot springs and geysers, severely limiting visibility. After a while of blindingly walking through the fog, Lumee suspects that Bupu the faerie dragon is following them closely. Using the gold coin she was gifted with when she left Greyrock, she lured the dragon to come closer. After being discovered, Bupu agreed to show himself and talk. Lumee tried to convince him to return the gemstone in exchange for some treasures (a magically warmed sock, a glowing die and a golden die). He accepted the trade if she could correctly answer three riddles, which she successfully did, and so the faerie dragon led them to his hiding place, a burnt down house where he kept the gemstone hidden. They completed the trade, and Lumee convinced Bupu to travel with them, in exchange for a fair share of all the treasures they find in their adventures. He also gave the girls an old locked wooden box which Remee tried to open unsuccessfully. After these events, the trio decided to travel back to the forest to return the gem (an extremely beautiful emerald with a swirling mist inside) to its owner. The dryad was delighted to have her gemstone back, and rewarded the gnome girls with her instrument, a beautiful ebony harp adorned with silver leaves.
