Lumee

Luminaria Dell (a.k.a. Lumee)

I'm not even sure that I want these powers... who would help Gramee if I were called away by The Wise?

Mental characteristics

Personal history

"Adventurers rarely make for nurturing parents, and your mother is no exception."

The oldest of the children under Gram's care, Lumee had very little time to daydream about her mother's whereabouts. She had been caring for the younger ones for as long as she could remember, and when she wasn't cooking, singing, or trying to brush mysterious sticky blobs out of messy braids, she was helping Gramee make clothes for them.

The kids were also the most excited when her crystal gifts started manifesting. Her grandmother's words on adventuring may be true, but she surely could not blame magic for that... nothing like a bit of prestidigitation to keep a room full of gnomelets entertained!

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Lumee's most cherished posession was a white silken handkerchief. It had been a present from Dell on her last visit to Greyrock, back when Lumee was just starting to help Gramee with the spindle. She had stared at it in awe, running her chubby fingers over the fine, silver thread of the embroidery. For years after that day, Lumee recited her mother's words to whoever showed the slightest interest in the small piece of fabric, so much so that they became her own motto:
"They call that a unicorn, you know. And I'll find one someday."

Social

Contacts & Relations

Lumee had never been too popular among gnomes her own age. Her obligations at home had always kept her from most age-appropriate social activities but, if we're being honest, that was not the whole reason. Most adults in town resented Dell for choosing a life of adventure, and feared Lumee had inherited the "rebelious gene", as they called it. Thus, at the first mention of magical creatures from far-away lands, their kids were quickly warned to stay away from Lumee, and so they did.

Patt's pupils --all in their early teens-- were a little more understanding, even if they sometimes resented the newcomer being praised for her abilities. They shared her gifts, after all.

Now, Gramee's kids were a completely different story. When your babysitter's hair lights up and she conjures stuff out of thin air, she becomes your hero.
Chief among the fans was the little whirlwind known as Remee, the only person in town that Lumee would actually call a friend, even though she was more of an adoring younger sister.

Note to Gramee

Dear Gramee,

Please don't get mad! Ranga, Paht and the other teachers needed someone to travel east and find clues about the crystal, so I volunteered. It's kind of a secret so don't tell anyone, specially the kids!
I have all my gear and Rock lent me a sleeping bag. He also gave me a crash course about the forest so I know what to expect.

I promise I'll be extra careful and will be back before you know it!
Remee will come and help you in the meantime I think.

Love ,

Lumee

Note to Remee

For gnome's sake Rem, where on Eloria did you have to run off to in the middle of the night? Your dad's worried sick!
I know you'll be fine wherever you are but if you read this, try to stay home for a bit!

Someone -or something- took the big crystal, and not even the elders are sure what to do now... All we know is they went east, so I'm going to the forest to try and find out what happened.

Please stay safe! Also, help Gram with the gnomelets, would you?

Hugs,
L

PS: Don't tell anyone about this!
