Greyrock

Greyrock is a small community of deep gnomes located in the underdark. It has a population of approximately 200, and it's lead by a council of elder gnomes. An important fact about this small town is that it's located in a point where the material plane overlaps with the positive energy plane, giving the caverns of the area around the town crystals imbued with this kind of energy. These crystals provide light and other benefits to the inhabitants of Greyrock. They also affect some inhabitants in a more direct way, giving them certain arcane powers, that manifest at a young age, and cause the hair of the person to constantly emit a dim white light.

Demographics

All t he inhabitants of the town are deep gnomes, with no exceptions. Of the 200, approximately 100 are adult gnomes, 50 are children or teenagers, and the remaining 50 are elders.

Government

Greyrock is lead by a reduced council of elder gnomes, five in total. Their names are: Dorn, Tanner, Alni, Yelin and Ranga. When one of the members of this council dies, the rest gather and choose a possible successor from among the inhabitants of the town. If he accepts the position, he is initiated into the circle after a brief ceremony. If he rejects, the council gathers again and repeats the process until a successor is found.

Assets

The most defining characteristic of Greyrock is a huge crystal of several meters in height, that resides on an ornamented pedestal in the plaza located in the center of town. This crystal concentrates a large amount of positive energy and is the power source of the rest of the smaller crystals distributed along the rest of the town.
