Elken Kingdom

The Elken Kingdom is a tri-burrow government absolute-monarchy located in the Leemon region. It is the longest-lasting independent kingdom known in the Southern Burrows to have ever existed and as of 1236 A.S. is still ruled over by the Rondale family House. It controls not just Elkflock Burrow, but also Statuon Burrow and Elridge Burrow.

History

Founding

The founding of the Elken Kingdom was first brought about in 1008 A.S. after the conquering of the neighboring burrow settlements of Sultaen Burrow and Broon Burrow, now known as Statuon and Elridge respectively. The accompanying conflict, known as the Three-Brothers War, was a two-year long conflict which saw the Elmonk Dairymen Army defeat both the Statuon Civil Militia and the Broon Burrow Army in a head-to-head struggle over control of the Endul foothills. Most notably was the accomplishments of Sir Treshul Rondale, whom successfully besieged the enemy burrow of Broon and routed the Statuon Civil Militia at the Siege of Broon Burrow in 1008 A.S.

Oppression of Natives

Since as early as 962 P.S. the Vermoni settlers of Leemon have been in constant tension with the native Leemon people. This tension has lead to much civil unrest over the years, and as early back as 1010 A.S. the Elken Kingdom has made its official policy that of systematic oppression over the native peoples. Specifically the Gelvenni Tribe, whom have caught the ire of Elken Kingdom government more than once in the past few hundred years. The most notable examples of the historic oppression that the Elken Kingdom has been come to be criticized for over the centuries includes the Renstulpi Genocide, the Gelvenni Raids, the Huutow Genocide, the Battle of Rurkstire, the Gelvenni Separation Act of 1099, the Elksburry Exclusion Act of 1158, the Gelvenni Resettlement Act of 1164, the Gelvenni-Vermoni Conflict, and the Gelvenni Segregation Movement of the 1220's.
