Kalashtar are a mix of humans and spirits from the plane of dreams, called quori. Their bodies resemble humans, except that their eyes are entirely white.

Kalashtar come from the ethereal plane, and are not native from the realm of Elmincia. When they come back, they tend to drift towards civilized places, sometimes forming communities inside of human towns.

Kalashtar are omnivorous, though the most sensitive ones avoid eating meat as they might get reflexes from the animal past life.

Social Structure
Kalashtar tend to respect the elders, and when they form a gonverment, they tend to have a council of elders who are responsible to guide the community. But they can just as easily try to mingle in human towns and be governed by other races.
Uses, Products & Exploitation
Slavery. Kalashtar tend to make poor slaves. Due to their ability to communicate in secret, they can be dangerous, and sometimes are more trouble than what they are worth.
However, Kalashtar normal calm and controlled demeanor make them very useful when acting in free professions that handle the public, like guards, merchants and public servants.

Relationship Ideals
Kalashtar tend to form communities, and even if a Kalashtar thinks about a relationship with another is desirable, it's important also that their spirits match. As such, the relationship between two Kalashtar are closer than the ones they retain with humans, as a Kalashtar's spirit has no counterpart when relating to other races.

Kalashtar brought along with them the art of meditation. As this also has helped many other humanoids find their inner peace, the culture has quickly spread to other races as well, though some people still find the practice strange.
Also, Kalashtar are the founder of many monasteries and monastic traditions.
Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals
Before marriage, it's common for Kalashtar couples to go to a segregated place to meditate for at least a week in isolation before the marriage is allowed. This is to test and see if the relation between the pair can last, as breaking a marriage is extremely ill-seen by Kalashtar society.
History
The Kalashtar are constantly migrating to Elmincia from the outer planes, running away from what they claim is a terrible evil.
Some say that the Kalashtar are originally humans from Elmincia that found a way into the astral planes and got bound with a spirit while there. If such claims hold any truth at all is not known.
Common Myths and Legends
Kalashtar often have nightmares about a great evil, beyond the wall of the worlds, sometimes from the plane they came from. They don't remember why they ran away or from what, as their memory are wiped clean when they come to this world, but they know something bad will eventually happen.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Kalashtar maintain a good relationship with humans and other humanoids. They are not fond of war, and therefore are often well employed as mediators or diplomats.
