Tymora, or as she is otherwise known, Lady Luck, is the chaotic goddess of Luck and Wealth. A common patron goddess for adventurers, Tymora smiles upon those who take risk and achieve victory from it, and her dice determine the fate of those who follow her. She is favored by gamblers, merchants, and wealthy businessmen alike, for money and chance are all under her domain.
Tymora usually apears as a fairly androgynous figure leaning on the side of feminine, often barefoot, and typically takes an appearance with short silver or golden hair, depending on her mood. She has also been known to take masculine forms, but feminine presentations are more common.
In addition to her humanoid form, she often took the form of a bird or a small dragon the size of a bird. Like Avandra, she is known for trickery and for her nature as a free spirit following her own whims. She is known for remaining jovial even in the darkest times, preferring mischief and ironic justice to open violence.
Tymora's Influence
Tymora is the embodiment and manifestation of Luck and Chance, as well as the keeper of wealth. She is the patroness of business and gamblers, and guides adventurers through their journeys... sometimes. Depending on a roll of the dice, she can help or hinder mortals, depending on how favorably she views them.
Tymora was always one of the more active gods in the pantheon, preferring not to rule from a lofty seat among the pantheon, but instead blending in among the mortals that she admired. She thrives in the marketplace, enjoying the way mortals haggle for deals, play games of chance with investments, and play games of chance with each other. Even when she would challenge her mortal followers to games of chance, she is not the goddess of victory, and thus, she has an equal chance of losing as the mortal challenged.
In Ellowyre, a powerful remnant of Tymora's power stil remains- the island that is now called Plierus. This island, where Tymora once had her grand hall, has now been converted into a paradise of gambling and trade, split between the lawlessness of Luck and the order of Tymora's faithful, who believe that Tymora's grace does not shine upon underhanded deeds. At the center are the ruins of Tymora's Shrine, hidden deep within a wild forest still tainted by old magic, where the richest of the island throw those who they would rather see die for entertainment than sully their streets.
Tymora's Goals
Tymora has no lofty goals, she simply is. She enjoys seeing mortals thrive, and she loves to watch them take fate into their hands. Occasionally she enjoys testing those who follow and believe in her by giving them a streak of bad luck, but she is content to see out the course of fate wherever it may go.
Divine Relationships
Tymora fluctuates between excellent and poor relations with the other gods, as when she provides the gods with streaks of luck they enjoy her presence, and when she curses them with bad luck they push her away. She is a fairly young goddess, and any in the pantheon view her as a little sister of sorts.
Tymora's closest relationship is with Avandra, goddess of fate and freedom. Both are related to the concept of chance, and thus their domains are closely linked. In many respects, Avandra, as the goddess of change, is her older sister- amused by Tymora's meddling with fate and endeared by the minor changes Tymora can make given the limitations of a bound destiny.
Tymora is an annoyance to gods of order and knowledge such as Erathis and Ioun. Tymora's domain of luck is unpredictable and erratic, so Erathis with her penchant for predictability, and Ioun with her ability to know all things both find her flighty.
The Raven Queen and Tymora are occasionally at odds. Tymora is the most involved in the lives of individual mortals, and occasionally bends odds in their favor, sparing them from failure or even death. The Raven Queen is steadfast and knows that all fates must meet their end, and Tymora sparing some adventurers from their fated end means more trouble for The Raven Queen.
Tymora and Sune are old rivals. Tymora had a reputation for taking many lovers among the pantheon, and once caught the eye of Tyr, stealing him away from Sune. Sune cursed Tymora in return, and the two have been at odds ever since.
Worshipping Tymora
Those who choose Tymora as patron tend to possess a zest for life and a calm assurance that she will ensure they live a long and fruitful life. Many halflings consider Tymora to be one of their patron, and consider her widespread worship in human lands as simply the greatest of Lady Luck’s numerous humorous cons.
Clerics of Tymora favor gaiety and spontaneity, believing that those who enjoy the greatest fortune are those who take the greatest risks. They position their temples as refueling stops for adventuring bands, often offering such staples as holy water and healing potions. Some churches take this a step further, offering excessive secret aid to the most daring of adventurers in a public relations effort to “prove” the value of Tymora’s doctrine. Clerics hail the miraculous success of these heroes upon their return from dangerous dungeons and haunted tombs, declaring their survival and plunder the reward given by Lady Luck. Each Tymoran temple is an independent operation with its own hierarchy and doctrinal interpretation, which usually boils down to the whims of the high priest or priestess informed by a baseline collection of beliefs and customs.
Tymora's Favor
Tymora is notoriously impulsive, often selecting champions based on momentary whims. Despite this seemingly blase attitude, she is dedicated to all her champions, no matter how they came into her service.

Myths of Tymora
Tymora and the Halflings
According to halfling legend, Melora and Sehanine created the halflings together, giving the race a love of nature and the gift of stealth. When their interest waned, Melora and Sehanine stopped looking after the race, or so the legends go, and halflings made their own way in the world. They say Tymora, the god of luck, admired their resourcefulness and adopted them, favoring them with good fortune. Not all halflings worship Tymora, but nearly all breathe a prayer of thanks to her when fortune favors them.
Tymora, Tyr, and Sune.
Tymora had caught the eye of the god Tyr, and despite Tyr's involvement with Sune, god of love and beauty, Tyr courted Tymora, making Sune furious. During Tymora's travels, she came upon a beautiful rose, which she attempted to pluck from the earth. Curiously, the flower would not budge, so she cursed it with bad luck, whereupon its stem broke and it fell to the ground. Thinking little of the incident, she placed the rose in her hair and continued her roaming, oblivious to the enchantment placed upon it by a jealous Sune. When Tymora returned to Celestia, the gods drew away, for Tymora's form had been enchanted to look hideous. She could only reassume her true form after begging Sune to dispel the illusion, and promising never again to pursue Sune's partners.
