Disbandment
A day of memorial to the Golden Age of Dragon Kind.
Feeling as though the Council has softened and slowed Dragon Kind to a sluggish crawl and fearing that their presence did not command the fear that it once had, Firebrand, the Red, leader of the Red Dragon clan, led a bloody coup against the Council of Wyrms. This action and resulting war led to the disbandment of the Council of Wyrms and the decline of the Draconic order in Ellecrid. Friebrand had spoken very frequently and very loudly how the Council had failed in it's duties and that Dragons were not meant to be caged behind bars of bureaucracy as they had been for centuries. In the past age alone, they had lost the support of many half dragon lords and their bloodlines, as well as the revolt and uprising of the Scion, all but absolving the practice of Dragonborne slavery. Many dragons of both chromatic and metallic breeds felt the same, but none so vivaciously. The coup was more of a violent and aggressive show of power that resulted in the death of many seated members of the council and subsequent bloodshed all abound the Brood Isles. The carnage that followed among the frantic factions of the Council was akin only to that of the Titan Wars of the First and Second Era. Firebrand's heir, Flamebrand would not survive the war and later, Firebrand would go missing, bringing about an end to the bloody war, but those invigorated by Firebrand's actions would go on to thwart and agitate any and all attempts to reorganize the council. This is also the event quoted as the end of the Golden Age of Dragon Kind. The clans were once again scattered to the winds, most even abandoning the Blood Isles and their ancestral homes. This event would also spark the proceeding Third and Fourth Emancipation Wars.
