Without warning, the Ley Lines, sources of powerful and innovative Charter Magic were suddenly severed and shut off. No one knows how or why, all they knw is that one day, the whole world went dark and has never seen a light akin since.

Up until this point in the world, Charter Magic had become common place in the homes and streets of the civilized world. However, due to circumstances the world's population does not fully understand or know, the Lay Lines, ancient epicenters of Charter Magic distribution and flow were interrupted and severed across the globe. Almost instantly all regulated Charter magic ceased, production was abandoned, and the knowledge of the ancient form was lost thanks to the storing of it in the Lay Lines themselves. The once golden age of industry and innovation came to an abrupt end, almost overnight.
