The Lordstone Sentinels

No one can forget the first time they looked upon the towering forms of the silver clad mountains of men and women that are the Lordstone's finest defenders and guardians. Their figures are both imposing and awe inspiring. They are virtually immortal, standing stalwartly before the High Throne of the Lordstone's lands in Sauseau. No one truly knows what creates these knights, nor what sustains them, but none can deny their fear should these appear on the battlefield.
When the first High King ascended the Lordstone to sit the throne, they and their family have always been guarded by the Sentinels whose bodys are changed to be the perfect guardian for the highest seat in the nation. When the line was apparently broken five hundred years ago, the sentinels did not abandon their posts, instead, standing vigil in the captial of Seaseau as they always had. There they stood and there they waited until another would come to ascend the steps and sit the throne.

Composition

Manpower

Records are consistant from the earliest days of their mysterious, yet imposing, order; the Sentinels have always stood 600 strong at all times. If ever a member of their number falls, they are quickly replaced after an intimate funeral is conducted, often concealed from the eyes of the common folk, to mask their mortality. In the grand scheme, only 600 in number is not a large force, a bnnerlord of modest lands and incomes can produce double that number, but the High King's guardians are and have always been worth at least a a hundred men each. The means in which a Sentinel is appointed is unknown to the common folk as well, only a closely guarded secret of a ministry within the royal court. If the populous knew of the means by which the High King has such extraordinary protectors, they would be shaken to the core.

Equipment

A closely guarded secret of the order and the royal line of Amysthine is that the entirity of the Sentinel's order is outfditted with Charter Magic gear and equipment, down to their very boots. These secrets are not known by even the High King's closest advisors, as the Sentinels have always sworn the high King to an oath of secrecy when they swear fealty to them at each and every ascension. Becaue of this, whenever a Sentinel falls, no expense is sparred in order to recover their body and gear. It is known within the order that the knowledge of how to construct these special pieces of equipment is only given to a Sentinel upon their appointment, the information fresh in their minds at the ceremony's end. One of the greatest pieces of equpiment at the Sentinel's disposal is their armor, which is actually a fully powered suit of armor, with advanced systems for combat, life support, and survival. Other marvels of the order are their cloaks, which are heavy and able to block a strike from an enchanted blade, or their horseless chariots that can carry a Sentinel great distances at speed. The Armor of the Honored is another a great and terrible power, it is reserved for members of the order whose wounds are crippling, but not death threatening, those few are interred into a suit of armor three times their size. Within this armor, they can continue their service as a dreadnaut of force. Less than a dozen exist in the Sentinel's ranks, only one of which has been seen by the people of Seaseau in recent years.
