The Black Prince
The Black Prince is a trading vessel from the Merchants of the Black Moon. This group is the center of the Black Market Traders Guild. This ship was built over 300 years ago, but is still as pristine as the day it was launched, mostly due to the current captain and the crew.
Prior to Makatza, The Black Prince's first Captain was actually a Prince. Prince Thadeus Epsodine was a short, overweight young man that wanted noting to do with the sea. He treated his crew very poorly and nearly sank the ship twice. He lost the ship less than 6 months after it was launched in a card game on a far away shore.
Then came the victor of the card game, Captain Jacob Audlington. Jacob was a very charismatic young man and took more than the ship that night. Captain Audlington sailed the ship for the remainder of his surprisingly long life. From time to time he took on piracy as a form of work, but was soon given the title of Privateer by the new King of the land, King Thadeus Epsodine. The last time that The Black Prince left port with Captain Audlington and it'e crew was the last time anyone ever saw them again. After 3 days of sailing, an unexpected storm came out of nowhere, killing almost all on board and nearly sank the ship itself.
Over 200 years go by without anyone ever seeing the ship again. Then one day, a young down on her luck woman, searching for a way to pay off her father's debt with Merchants of the Black Moon, Makatza sees something off in the distance. As she gets closer, she sees that it is a ship in a small cove with trees towering high overhead. She dares go closer and investigate. Once onboard, she sees dozens of skeletal remains, broken crates and barrels as well as a lot of surface damage on deck. She goes below deck and sees about the same wreckage everywhere. Then it dawns on her, this can be the ticket to her financial freedom.
Makatza is able to commission the Guild Leader of the Black Moon to tow the ship back to port. There, the guild members assessed the value of the ship. Although in reality it fully covered the debt owed, Makatza was told that it was only half of what was owed to them once they repaired all the damage. Makatza asked the guild if she could take charge of repairs if she was able to find a crew and then use the ship as a way to make up the remainder of her father's debt. With much reluctance, they agreed.
