Shadowki

The Shadowki are one of the three major races in the world of Elil being a race that leans far more on the magical side of the world and are far more inclined to it compared to much of the other races.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The Shadowki are a bipedal race with two arms and two legs. They have a very similar anatomy to humans and same joint and muscle structure though it seems they have weaker eyesight due to their life in caverns deep underground. At one point it may have been blindness but they have developed some forms of sight even if weaker. Their arms and legs are powerful. Due to their environment they have slower metabolisms. They have developed ectothermy relying on finding sources of heat to help regulate temperatures and reduce energy consumption when digesting.

Genetics and Reproduction

Shadowki have the same sexual reproduction as humans do with a 9 month gestation period for the shadowki children.

The Shadowki have growthrate similar to humans with an average lifespan of about 64. The stages of their life start-

Ecology and Habitats

The Shadowki were born from the caverns, born from the earth itself. They thrive in temperate environments and in the cold temperature of Nadia would keep them warmer at least than up above. They do surface quite often for other resources especially wood not common underground accept for the Deep Woods.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Shadowki are omnivorous creatures that once feasted mainly on Insects, Underground Mushrooms, And small rodents that live or fly into the caves. Occasionally devouring blind fish in the rivers as well. They would hunker them in piles stored in cold pockets closer to entrances or water to keep it moist. Nowadays Shadowki hunt, farm, and forage.

Biological Cycle

As Shadowki age and grow their skin will grow more and more pale. They will begin to develop wrinkles and their bodies will grow weaker and weaker after their middle age. Though this is their physical ages. Their soul does not weaken until after their bodies die.

Behaviour

Shadowki are a very sentient race and exhibit many different "base" behaviors. They are known to utilize magic heavily. Much more than other races at least due to their natural aptitude in the magical arts.

Average Intelligence

The Shadowki are decently intelligent and share much of the same intellect as humans do. If anything they are a bit more intelligent especially int he arcane arts being able to combine magic and tech intricately though lots of their knowledge has been dispersed and scattered.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

The Shadowki have all the senses humans do but with weaker and more blurry eyesight compared to the rest. Now it is much more weakened but those shadowki that lurk in their caverns have an acute sense of heat sources and a slight soul sense to detect living things though it is miniscule.

Civilization and Culture

Major Organizations

At one point in history the Shadowki owned one of the biggest imperialistic empires in the world of Elil. It was the Shadoan empire. They would make hyper advanced magic tech to keep control of their empire and spread as much as they could along the known world.
