Atran Agalvie was the seventy-fourth Archbishop of Atreius, and he held that post for fifteen years, from 1259 to 1274. He gained power after the mysterious death of his predecessor, Alistair Barnabus Dean, who was the longest-serving Archbishop before his mysterious death.
Agalvie tried, throughout his life, to make contact with the Warlocks that once inhabited Eleros. In the final few years of his life, he did make contact with a Warlock who called himself Carbine. However, in his thirst for knowledge and power - he hoped to learn the powers of Change Magic - he saw through the few tiny flaws in Carbine's disguise. For Carbine was not, in fact, a Warlock, but the reincarnation of the legendary Demon Darind the Bloodless. He met his death at the hands of Carbine with no living heir, so the title of Archbishop was handed down to the old
