The Park
Alternate New York has a park like Central Park. However, it's not as important to those in charge. It is smaller and poorly maintained, though that tends to work in its favor. The city is so focused on industrial progress, the concern for open green space is largely pushed to the side. Many elementals make their home here, as well as normal animals, birds, squirrels, raccoons, and whatever else tends to live there. The elementals are probably the only reason the park hasn't been totally demolished at this point. A dirt path winds through the park, only existing as a shortcut from one side of it to the other. Sometimes you're late for work and don't want to run around the entirety of the park. So it's less an official path and more an informal 'best way through the woods' route.
Geography
The park is mostly trees and bushes and shrubs. It's not maintained by gardeners or park workers. It's left to exist, but that doesn't mean money is spent on its upkeep. A largish pond sits in the center, a place for many water elementals to relax and live. A meager sidewalk runs the outer border of the park, though it is damaged in many places and would need to be relocated if the city decides to annex more land space from the diminishing greenery.
Fauna & Flora
Pine and oak and elm fill the area, and bushes and hedges are allowed to grow wherever they go. Since maintenance of the grounds is not a priority, grass doesn't exist on the grounds, or very little wild grass, and it certainly isn't manicured lawns. Elementals roam just as freely as the birds and squirrels and other wild animals do.
Natural Resources
While the wood here could be harvested, the elementals that live here can be defensive and the wood would be hard fought to obtain. The land is otherwise not terribly useful, which is why hardly any thought is given to it by those in charge.
