Retribution (Ship)

"You often hear stories of the naval heroes of the northern and southern colonies, heroes of wars against Shadra and Senestria. Take it from me, they have nothing when compared to the warriors of the east. Their blood runs with iron, their minds are forged from steel. The Northern Colonies are nothing but mines, the Southern Colonies nothing but farms. Here in the east, we are the forefront against another war against Shadra. Unsung heroes, huh."

Retribution is the name of the flagship of all naval vessels operating in the Eastern Colonies of the Kingdom of Erdantia. It is commanded by Admiral Leonard Beckett, a well-respected war hero in Erdantia's navy. It was built in the year 1569, by expert shipwrights from the City of Renn. Its crewmen are all combatants, hardened soldiers first and foremost. Every one of them is hand-picked by the Admiral himself, for their naval skill and ability to work under stress. Retribution is often seen at the front of battle, slugging it out with the more well armoured ships.

Propulsion

Retribution has four masts, utilizing a mix of square and triangular sails.

Weapons & Armament

Retribution is famous for being one of the most well-armed ships in the entirety of Erdantia's navy. It boasts double decks of cannons, and three swivel cannons on the poop deck. It can reduce a frigate to splinters in seconds, if the ship gets close enough.

Communication Tools & Systems

Retribution uses a well-developed system of flags to communicate, having specific flags for commonly-used phrases, individual words or even letters. These flags can be raised along one of two masts, so that if one mast is destroyed, the ship can continue to communicate using the other mast.
