Melva

Melva is a small fishing hamlet in the Council-Run holding of Renn, Eastern Erdantia. It sits on the southern coast of the Peninsula of Erdantia, within a small cove.

Government

Melva is run by the council of the City of Renn. A single official from Renn presides at the entrance to the village, and has an office open to any complaints.

Defences

Melva itself is completely defenceless, with no defensive force of its own (although help may be called upon by the local guard, despite the fact that their role is primarily law-enforcement). However, it is in the immediate vicinity of both Sinco and Renn which are both major military centres in both naval operations and Erdantia's defense against Gaen.

Industry & Trade

Melva's economy is almost entirely supported by the Newell Fishery. The fishery is based in Melva, but has an office with a small storeroom in Sinco. Its main export is trout, which is sent to support Sinco and the City of Renn. Crop growth is also common, but is done mostly to sustain the town rather than to provide income.

Infrastructure

Melva has a small dock, enough to hold only one ship of medium size. In terms of sanitation, Melva's infrastructure is quite effective, with a small cesspit a little way away from the town, definitely enough for the sewage needs of a small town.

History

Melva was founded in the late 1400s by Edwin Newell, who built the Newell fishery and his house in the cove. It slowly picked up more inhabitants over time, eventually becoming a small hamlet.

Geography

Melva is situated inside one of the many coves that line the southern coast of the Peninsula of Erdantia, especially in Renn and Hender. The surrounding land is grassy and quite fertile.
