The Sacrum Scriptor

Purpose

The Sacrum Scriptor is the holy book of the religion the Boreas empire spread down into the south. It claims to be the written down words of their God. It is a collected mix of histories, laws, propechicies, songs, wise sayings, letters of advice, and liturgical patterns.

Document Structure

Clauses

It is composed of the Older and Newer Writings. The Newer Writing contain the history of the religion's beginning, the letters written by those who begun it, and all the liturgical sayings. The Older Writings contain the history of one of the ancient kingdoms that became part of the Boreas empire, along with their laws and other writings.

Caveats

Most of the teachers of the Boreas religion claim that the book is applicable to all people. Some say it is also applicable to every facet of life.

References

The history is said to agree with other historical works of the Boreas in large part, and many of the laws and sayings can be found the world over. The Navati also have some similar books which match with portions of the Sacrum Scriptor when translated.

Historical Details

Background

The Sacrum Sciptor is very ancient. Without study of the time it was written, and deep study of the book itself, the background is hard to appreciate. What is known is that is was written a the height of the first Boreas Empire, before the dissolution and second forming.

History

The events which caused the compilation of the Sacrum Scriptor caused a religion to spread throughout the empire. It spread slowly to start with, and did not finish spreading until after the dissolution, but many credit this religion, and therefore the book, with giving the necessary cohesion required for the second forming of the empire.

Legacy

Though it is moslty fallen out of general use in the Chiefdoms, the Sacrum Scriptor was the basis for many of their systems, and the liturgies, and some of the songs are still used in the chapels as is the rest in a lesser degree. It also has kret into the language now used in the chiefdoms
