Merpeople
Basic Information
Anatomy
Merpeople are part fish, but not in a traditional way. They appear as a normal human on land. While in water, they have a different appearence. From the waist down, they have scale covered legs with fins on their wrists and ankles. They possess gills on the side of their neck and have slightly sharper teeth. Their eyes change to be slightly different in order to see in the dark. They become fully whatever color eyes the person has. They also glow quite brightly when it is pitch dark.
Biological Traits
They usually live tens of thousands of years. When out of water, they are quite similar to humans.
Growth Rate & Stages
Merpeople grow and mature relatively quicker than humans.
Ecology and Habitats
They mostly live in the city of Hyril, although a large amount of them live in sparse colonies in the ocean.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Usually they collect and eat varietes of sea vegetables like seaweed and kelp. They do occasionally eat smaller fish.
Behaviour
Most merpeople are pretty collected and only lash out when they or someone they care about are threatened.
