Maleun (mal-you-n)
Maleun is a stone bastard sword made by Yhellel during his tournament. It is one of the few stones that don't look like a normal rock. The sword appears to be a fully stone bastard sword made by a novice blacksmith, until it is picked up. When equipped by a person, the sword changes it's appearance to a jagged blade similar to a spine, and a rough, spiked handle with several bones coming from it piercing the wielder, these spikes grow from the sword when it is picked up and enter it's wielder's body quite deep, which does increse the AC of the wielder by 3. After being picked up, Maleun along with it's change in shape, shows all of the blood spilt on it, which can be seen inside of the spine-like blade dripping out, and all along the outside of the blade. This blood is from past foes that this blade killed. Inside of the blade are all of the hearts that Maleun has stolen, starting with Telarion's. The hearts are still beating, and although they can be used in any way while the sword's true form is present, they vanish as soon as the sword is just stone again. If they were eaten or brewed into a potion in that time, all the matter that exists in the potion or was originally a heart in a stomach vanishes as well.
The base stats for Maleun is:
+5 to hit -- 2d8+60+(Strength Modifier)
When swung the sword will hit with the power of all it's past wielders and those slain by it at once, dealing massive damage. If the sword does hit, the bones that had pierced the wielder's arm and increased their AC enter the body deeper, digging through flesh and dealing half the damage dealt to the enemy back to the wielder. After 5 swings with this sword without putting it away, the bones dig too deep and kill the wielder.
Nothing but choice can make a person drop this sword. If they decide to drop it in the middle of battle and pick it back up, the bones dig just as deep as they were when they dropped the sword. If they pick it back up out of battle, it will reset.
The sword has a range of 15ft, anything past 5ft causes the sword to unwind and lash out like a whip, hitting with jagged bone. When attacking for more than 5ft, the wielder takes half the damage dealt+10.
The hearts in the sword may be taken out and used as a throwing weapon (1d4 damage, 25ft+Strength Modifier range), but they will always reappear in perfect condition inside the sword the next time Maleun's true form is shown.

Maleun's champion was a tiefling barbarian named Telarion who wished for an artifact holding absolute power. He died 1 year later at the handle of Maleun.
