Airship of the Line

Description of the Airship:

Type & Armament:

A large, airborne warship. Equipped with 29 ballistae, a bomb bay, and marines.
Lift System:
Held aloft by three semirigid gasbags.
Propelled by three engines: one large main engine in the rear and two auxiliary engines toward the front.

Structural Features:

Gondolas: Multiple gondolas are used to balance the airship, spreading out its weight. Smaller gasbags toward the rear balance the large main gondola. Gondolas hang from tethers, and losing too many tethers would result in the ship's destruction.

Weapons and Utility:

Ballistae are mounted on swivels for a wide firing arc. The bombardment bay is loaded with explosive ordnance barrels, which can be dropped using a lever.

Crew:

Around 50 officers and crew:
1 captain, 1 doctor, 1 quartermaster, 4 officers, 4 midshipmen, 16 marines, and 24 crew. Crew and marine quarters use double-bunk beds, stacked one on top of the other. Officer cabins and crew quarters are attached to the gasbag’s inner frame.
