The Calamity, All Known History

Brief Summary

The Calamity was an event that took place roughly 500 years ago. It was a series of large battle waged across the lands of Ciruesia, seemingly forever altering the land into that of the undead and corrupted beings. The war was fought between mortals and gods to dispute their power, as at the time the gods had a much stronger grip on the lives of mortals, weaving their destiny for their own interests. There were powers on all sides with legions at their control stretching billions in number. Little is known about the battle that actually took place, there are speculations and folklore but nothing concrete as most involved were slain or imprisoned. After the Calamity, most gods lost their grasp over the world and were sent to separate realms and blocked from returning.

Willard's The Call of The Nameless

"As a historian, I have always been fascinated by the stories of gods, demons, and powerful mortals that have been passed down through the ages. So when I came across an ancient manuscript detailing a great battle that took place centuries ago, I was intrigued. The manuscript described a war that involved gods, demons, and powerful mortals, with the fate of the entire world hanging in balance. According to the text, the gods and demons had long been at odds with each other, each vying for control over the realm of mortals.   It was during this time of turmoil that a curious adventurer stumbled upon the battle, drawn to the conflict by their insatiable desire for knowledge and adventure. The adventurer's involvement proved to be pivotal, as they were able to join forces with the mortals and push back against the onslaught of the gods and demons. But what really caught my attention was the idea that this adventurer had somehow managed to summon a power that had been dormant within them, rising up to meet the challenge and turn the tide of the battle.   I am aware that many legends and stories are embellished over time, but there was something about this particular tale that struck a chord with me. Perhaps it was the idea that ordinary people could rise up and become something more, wielding powers that they never knew they possessed. Whatever the case may be, I spent countless hours pouring over the manuscript, cross-referencing it with other texts and historical accounts to try and piece together the truth behind the legend.   In the end, I came to realize that the story was more than just a simple legend - it was a reflection of the struggles that have existed between the forces of good and evil throughout human history. It was a reminder that, no matter how dire the situation may seem, there is always hope for a better future, and that the actions of even a single individual can have a profound impact on the course of history.   And so, even now, as I sit here pouring over dusty tomes and ancient manuscripts, I can't help but wonder - what other stories are out there, waiting to be discovered and retold for generations to come?"
