Nature of the Event: The Great Eclipse occurred when the moon of Skymoor passed directly between the sun and the floating islands, casting a profound shadow across the realm. Unlike previous eclipses, this one was foretold to be exceptionally potent due to the alignment of ley lines and aetheric currents, amplifying its magical and metaphysical impact.   Impact on the Floating Isles: As the eclipse reached its peak, a surge of unpredictable aetheric energies swept through Skymoor. The skies darkened dramatically, and a violent storm of ethereal lightning and turbulent winds engulfed the floating islands. The once-stable paths and connections between the isles were disrupted, causing chaos and disarray as landmasses shifted and collided in unforeseen ways.   Devastation to the Skywatchers: The Skywatchers, who traditionally gathered at their observatories and sacred sites to monitor and interpret celestial phenomena, were caught unprepared by the unprecedented ferocity of the eclipse's effects.
