Shadowspawn

Shadowspawn are created, not born, by the merging of shadowstuff and the corrupted life forces of beings from other planes. They vary in form and size, from towering shadow giants and spectral wraiths to agile shadow wolves and insidious shadow assassins. Each shadowspawn is imbued with a portion of its creator's will, making them fiercely loyal and terrifyingly effective in combat.  Some common types include:
Shadow Giants: Towering and formidable, shadow giants are infused with the essence of ancient giants but twisted by the shadows. They wield massive shadowy weapons that can cut through armor and stone alike, and their footsteps leave trails of darkness that sap the strength of those nearby.
Spectral Wraiths: Ethereal and haunting, spectral wraiths are incorporeal beings that glide through the air with eerie grace. They drain the life force of their victims with a touch, leaving behind desiccated husks. Slythar often uses them as assassins or scouts due to their ability to move unseen through shadows.
Shadow Wolves: Agile and deadly, shadow wolves resemble their natural counterparts but are cloaked in wispy, shifting shadows that make them difficult to track. They hunt in packs, their fangs and claws infused with a numbing cold that chills to the bone.
Shadow Assassins: Swift and stealthy, shadow assassins are humanoid figures clad in dark, form-fitting armor that seems to absorb light. They excel in infiltration and sabotage, using their mastery of shadows to slip past defenses and strike at key targets.
Umbral Shades: Formless and amorphous, umbral shades are beings of pure shadowstuff given vague humanoid shapes. They serve as foot soldiers, able to meld into and emerge from shadows at will, making them incredibly elusive and difficult to pin down in battle.

Biological Traits

Shadowspawn possess innate abilities granted by their connection to the Plane of Shadow:
Shadow Cloak: They can blend seamlessly into shadows, becoming nearly invisible in dim light or darkness. This ability allows them to surprise enemies and launch ambushes with devastating effectiveness.
Umbral Resilience: Shadowspawn are resistant to conventional weapons and physical harm, their forms partially incorporeal due to their shadowy nature. This resilience makes them difficult to defeat in direct combat.
Dark Affinity: They draw strength from darkness and shadow magic, becoming more powerful when immersed in areas of deep shadow or under the influence of Slythar's dark spells.
