The Temple of Ifaela

The Temple housing the 40 ft wrought iron statue of the mighty warrior goddess Ifaela, her presence has given the statue a molten core which shines through the cracks of the black iron. She rules over all Kalignis directly on a marble throne in a position to allow the goddess to watch over The Amphitheatre of War.

In front of the goddess are three burning pits of fire:

The left pit is known as "The Last Penance" and those accused of can throw themselves into the pit, where the guilty and unworthy will be burnt to ash in both body and soul, however the innocent and honourable will rise renewed from the pit proving to all their innocence beyond reproach.

The centre pit is "The Ember That Ignites", initiates who were rejected by [The Sisters of the Sphere] for recruitment who believe an error has been made may journey to the temple and give themselves willingly to the pit wherein the power of Ifaela will be given to them in full, most do not survive as receiving this power so suddenly is extremely taxing on the body however those who do, prove the folly of fully trusting mortal minds and join as a high ranking Sister.

The final pit is "The Fires of Failure", although they appear no different, these flames do not burn the body but rather burn the mind, those who have failed Ifaela or their honour and cannot stand to continue may offer the memory of themselves to Ifaela, leaving them as empty husks who can continue to serve while their spirit is redeemed directly within Ifaela's mercy.
