Beast Cores

Beast Cores can be found occasionally within powerful monsters from within Dungeons. They are, in essence, a solidified version of the mana used by The system to dissipate the excess mana from Eldaria, making the object mostly Mana with a small amount of another material, referred to as Corruption, which holds it together a solid form.

The Mana has two widely known applications, although experts agree that there are undoubtedly more potential applications for what is essentially pure energy.

First they can be directly absorbed by the sentient races to increase their power and longevity, it should be noted that the "corruption" included within the beast core is also absorbed and no way to absorb the mana only has been discovered.

Secondly the mana can be used within the newly developing field of Magitech where the mana is used to power machines, to perform tasks within their programmed boundaries. Interestingly the use of cores in Magitech only utilises the mana leaving a husk behind which is pure "corruption".



While there is still much disagreement the current leading theory about "corruption" is that it is in fact another form of Mana, however where mana as we know is is essentially the concept to enact change, corruption appears to be mana that has had change enacted upon it to the degree that it is no longer willing to change.

When absorbed corruption blocks elements within the person's body preventing natural growth which is the current accepted explanation as to why people who use cores become reliant on cores to keep growing.
