Personal history

Maelann was born in a quaint little village. His father was a travelling merchant, liked to be with women in every place he went. Thus after a month together on one of his throughtravels, Maelann's mother never saw him again. He did leave her with a golden chained necklace, that she later gave to Maelann.
Growing up was strange for Maelann. From already one year old, he started to move objects with his mind. Around him, all kinds of weird magical things started to happen. His mother wanted to support him, but she did not know how to handle his magic.
The other children in the village were both excited by the smaller tricks he could do, but also afraid to be really close to him. Through it all, Maelann stayed a happy kid, encouraged by his mother. Nevertheless, some fear started to creep in him as well, afraid of his own powers and what he could do. With no one there to help him control it, and his fear and power growing, he caused a barn to burn down when he was just 7. No one was harmed but a goat. That was the moment his mother started writing letters to bigger cities, to ask for help with his magic. Yet before any answers came, Maelann suddenly dissapeared from the village, in the middle of day.
He was teleported to a big city that was actually not far away from the village, but he did not know how to get home. He lived in the city for a few months, trying to find someone that could help him with his magic, as his mother had told him, or a way to go home. He used his magic to steal whatever scraps he could come by, but never once did he lose hope. He wanted to stay happy and curious as his mother had always asked he'd be. Then suddenly one day, when he was caught by some guards stealing an apple, Maelann got scared and teleported away again. He reappeared in a valley, where he met Kuma. Kuma was really nice and wanted to help him get home. And they went on a journey together.
