Kazan

- Kazan - Heishi (a.k.a. -)

Adopted ‘son’ of Murakami from the wealthy family of Heishi in the city of Krita.   This merchant was one of the richest of the city. The man seemed caring and nice at first glance, he fed the poor every week from his own money, spared no costs when it came to supporting the artists in the city and even took in a tiefling boy at young age.   But what few knew was that he was leading a cult in which people prayed to Zargon. Murakami secretly hoped to achieve magical abilities and had great desires to achieve power from Zargon. Kazan was indoctrinated by his father to be the speaker of Zargon and the impersonation of his will. So Kazan never questioned any of this. Yet from the outside Murakami and Kazan seemed like the perfect father and son with a good relationship.   Despite the indoctrination Kazan grew up to be a rather charming person, were it only a mask he put on. On the streets he was talkative and nice to his fellow man. And as his role as the speaker of Zargon he had to convince and strengthen the fate of the followers and he did this excellently. The cult thrived under the charismatic presence of the young tiefling and the organisatory skills and money of his father. Despite the succes Kazan never felt happy and had this faint idea in the back of his mind that what he was doing was terribly wrong.   One his 11th birthday Kazan started hearing whispers, first he ignored them. But the whispers stayed and in the following weeks strange magical things started to happen. From flickering lights to small auditory and visual illusions he could unknowingly conjure up. When his father found out that this adopted boy of him had magical abilities he went into a rage believing Zargon chose Kazan over him to receive his gratitude. It was in this rage of jealousy he cut of a finger and a toe of Kazan And threw him from the city wall. He was left there bloodied and broken.   Kazan was took in by a poor medicine lady called Kachiko who nurtured him. He didnt know how to thank her since she was the first person who actually cared for him and was nice to him. Completely different than his mad father and the followers who had great admiration and fear for him at the same time. When he had gained enough strength to walk and the lady was away he went out of the front door. After some walking to the richer part of town he was spotted by guards who chased him but he quickly hid. When he returned tot he lady’s house she was waiting for him, angry because he left without saying a word. After some talking it became clear that she knew who he was and that his father Murakami was looking for him. Probably not because he cared for him but because his cult was suffering from the absence of its speaker. She told him he had to leave this city or stay hidden in the slums, otherwise his father would catch him.   The kind lady Kachiko offered him to stay at her house for as long as he like. Quite overwhelmed by this trustfull and nice offering he said yes. The following years Kazan lived with the lady providing her with some money he made swinling and deceiving people on the streets. He kne wit wasn’t entirely honest work, but it was what he was good at and nothing would pay for itself. During this time he became quite adept at avoiding the guards and in secret he experimented a bit with his magical abilities. Mainly things like illusions and making others more prone for his deceiving manners. He was almost never caught lying and fooled everything and everyone he saw, just for he fun of it.   Soon he became wealthy enough to get his own little place and he moved out of the lady’s house. Yet he never stopped helping her financially and never stopped coming by for a kind talk. He was finally his own man not bound by others and he enjoyed every bit of it. Life was good in those days.
