Sonance gifted charm magic to Song Bards. Unlike illusion magic, Song Bards used this magic more in combat than for pleasure. Song bards used charm magic to deceive and inspire, both protecting themselves and increasing morale for others.

Song Bards were the ones in Sonance's care that could use charm magic. Their specialty in musical instruments and song was important to both the military and the general populace. Song bards specialized in battle magic and inspiration magic.

Battle Magic

Charm magic deceived opponents while in battle, as well as having power to charm them with arrows. These spells rarely killed foes, but it made them vulnerable to deadlier attacks. These two spells were called "deceptive calls" and "command" respectively.

"Deceptive calls" used enemy weaknesses to the bard's advantage. The Song Bard convinced their target(s) that there was something stalking them or that their comrades were planning to kill them. This resulted in bloodshed that wasn't the bard's. Sometimes this resulted in the target(s) becoming so frightened that they ran from the bard. This left the Song Bard safe and able to travel to their destination undisturbed.

"Command" was a spell that was useful and controversial many times. Many argued that this spell removed someone's autonomy and resembled madness magic. It controlled the body while forcing the mind to watch from the sidelines. Many Song Bards did not use this spell according to their morals, but some still found the spell to their liking. With few bards using this spell, it was in the dimension of the unknown. However, Sonance still kept this spell for the most severe cases of need.

Inspiration Magic

Song Bards could perform inspiration magic in taverns and military outposts. Taverns were for the public, while military outposts were for before battles or patrols. Song Bards performed this magic by playing one of their created songs. This boosted morale as well as improved quality of life for those around the bards. People could say the bard's performances charmed them.

Use of Magic

Gnomes already had Sonance's magic within them, but other races blessed by her had an effect of their eyes when they used their magic.
