Beasts

Since the dawn of time, beasts roamed the world. Even before the pantheon dreamed of the elves and dragons. To survive, they need ether. However, they cannot connect to the ether field like the elves and dragons can, so they resort to other measures. Life is an agglomeration of ether, as such, they kill and eat each other to procure it. As they kill and eat, they grow stronger, some as strong as elves and dragons, they gain intellect, the ability to speak and strategize. They can evolve from their root form and merge with the elements, becoming fire or wind.
Beast is an umbrella term for all species indigenous to Elatorel other than elves and dragons. They're the parent species to tens of thousands of others.
